Sr basketball wrapped up yesterday and now we turn to junior basketball

If you are not the jr basketball coach at your school please ask the current jr bball coach if they are registered for these emails.
Our basketball convenors (Erik and Evan) have prepared a brief message for you to read before you register....
Welcome to a new season of basketball.
We are excited to offer two opportunities for teams to be involved with - a brief league schedule, and a single day tournament experience.
For those that are new to basketball, all rules and information can be found at https://lesaa.limestone.on.ca/basketball
As a reminder, LESAA promotes the idea of providing sport learning experiences for all participants. This is why in Junior Basketball we use a shift system where players must play an equal number of shifts. To do so every team must have a minimum of 10 players, and players can not play back to back shifts. The final shift of every game is the only exception where coaches can play players of their own choosing.
The basketball for Junior basketball is size 5.
Please note: Due to limited access to gym facilities and officiating, at this time we can only ensure that one girls and boys team from each school will be allowed to play in the District Tournament. Additional teams from a school can be included in the after school league play, and if more availability occurs schools will be notified.
On a final note, we welcome the involvement of Evan Cheetham, who will be taking over the role of convenor of basketball next season.
