John Hall 2023 Recipients

Hey Coaches - happy late June and I hope you are surviving these last few days. This message is being sent to all coaches for all sports - and therefore, many of you will be getting this same message multiple times - it will be exactly the same and you only need to read it once!
John Hall Award Winners:
The LESAA Awards Committee is pleased to announce the 2023 winners of the John Hall Coaching Award: Martha Runté and Dan Lord. These coaches both received multiple nominations as a testament to their outstanding contributions to athletics within their schools and the community.
Martha Runté: As described by one of Martha's nominators; "Martha has been coaching young athletes and developing Polson’s running and track program for more than 20 years. Martha’s approach is to focus on developing the whole child, balancing athletics supports and ensuring that all athletes have a positive attitude and are good sports." Martha spends countless hours, before and after school and during lunch hours coaching and training the students for track and field, cross-country and road racing. She works with community members to provide meaningful and inclusive athletic opportunities to the students at Polson Park and is a most deserving winner of this award.
Dan Lord: As described by one of Dan's nominators; "Dan has spent countless hours coaching, organizing and improving athletics throughout the Limestone District School Board. He has tirelessly coached all sports, organized tournaments, and a full intramural program. Dan has spent a lot of his time developing athletes by running multiple teams in order for students to develop collaboration, skill and resilience." Dan has also worked with youth in the community through the local competitive volleyball club. Through his varied coaching experiences at Vanier, the Kingston community, and throughout the District, Dan is a very worthy winner of this award.
Congratulations to Martha, Dan, and all of the John Hall Coaching Award Nominees. LESAA is grateful to all of our coaches who provide countless opportunities to students within the Limestone District School Board. The presentations to Martha and Dan will occur at the Fall AGM.
